Harvest donation
PRESS RELEASE - 24th Oct 2016
LOCAL SCHOOL MAKES HARVEST DONATION
Oak Tree Primary School recently held a celebratory Harvest Festival in a school assembly. Families were invited to join in and also to contribute to a food collection. School wanted this food to go to a cause where is would really make a difference, so contacted the local Tesco store to see if they could help.
Tesco collects and works in partnership with the Sherwood Forest Food Bank which supports families in need in the Mansfield area. Tesco agreed to retain the school collected food items until they could be collected by the Food Bank volunteers.
Oak Tree Primary School Head Mark Thrower said
“We wanted to make a contribution to the local community and we know Tesco do collect for the local food bank. It seemed an ideal solution to bring a small group of children to the store, with our Harvest food collection. We hope it is of benefit to Sherwood Forest Food Bank.”
