Summer Term 2024

Hello and I hope you have all had a wonderful Easter holidays! We would first like to say a big welcome to the new children starting in  our Beatrix Potter Nursery class! We hope you have a great first term here with us a Oak Tree Primary School. Our new Foundation One class will also be starting after the Easter holidays with Miss Kavanagh and Miss Donaldson which we know will be great!

This term Foundation One and Reception will be learning all about transport, pirates and how things grow! We will hopefully be having chicks in our class to look after for a short while and having caterpillars to nurture into butterflies! We have some excellent learning experiences to look forward to this term.

Nursery will be learning all about the mini-beasts, gardening and how things grow. They will read stories including; The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Tiny Seed and Jack and the Beanstalk.

In reception our forest school runs on a Wednesday afternoon - Welly Wednesdays and Nursery on Fridays - Forest Friday! Lots of fantastic outdoor learning will take place including making outdoor pictures, mini-beast hunts and creative activities matched to the book we are focusing on that week.

Please read these with your child at least 3x per week - this makes a huge impact on their progress in reading!

PE will continue to be on a Monday afternoon for Reception and a Thursday for Foundation One and Nursery

If you have any questions please come and see myself (Mrs Tuxford-Flory), Miss Bradbury (Nursery teacher) or one of the fabulous member of our EYFS team- we look forward to a sunny Summer Term!
