Spring Term 2025

Hello and happy new year to you all! We would first like to say a big welcome to the new children starting in  our Beatrix Potter Nursery class! We hope you have a great first term here with us a Oak Tree Primary School.

Nursery start this term looking at 'Weather and Seasons' they have lots of craft activities, sensory exploration and outside time planned for this. Nursery will be ending this term learning about Easter and there will be opportunities for parents to come into school to create and celebrate with your children.

In Reception we have started learning all about the New Year and have thought about what we would like to do this year that we did not do last year. We then move onto learning all about The Gruffalo and reading a range of our favourite Julia Donaldosn stories! We also end the term with Easter celebrations which again parents will be invited into school to join us.

In reception our forest school runs on a Thursday afternoon and Nursery on Fridays - Forest Friday! Lots of fantastic outdoor learning will take place including making outdoor pictures, mini-beast hunts and creative activities matched to the book we are focusing on that week.

Please read these with your child at least 3 times per week - this makes a huge impact on their progress in reading!

Please not that PE for Reception class has now changed to a Friday afternoon, PE will continue on Thursdays for Nursery

If you have any questions please come and see myself (Mrs Tuxford-Flory), Miss Bradbury (F2 teacher), Miss Kavanagh (Nursery lead) or one of the fabulous member of our EYFS team. We look forward to a lovely Spring Term!
