Following the retirement of one of our current school office team members, we are seeking to appoint a new, enthusiastic, dedicated and highly organised School Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to join the Oak Tree team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role as the welcoming face of Oak Tree Primary School, creating a positive first impression for children, parents, staff, governors and visitors.

We are a large primary school, with approximately 215 children on roll.  We are a happy, friendly, caring and busy school where we seek to go ‘Beyond Expectations’ in all we do.  We are part of the Aspire Multi-Academy Trust – a small group of primary schools who share the same ethos and vision.  Our core purpose is the Profound Personal Development of our children.  We have a clear ‘Values Based’ approach to learning and through our exciting and creative curriculum, both in and out of the classroom.

This position requires someone with strong administrative experience (preferably in a school setting), who can work under pressure handling interruptions calmly, with a cheery manner! Alongside being the first point of contact for all visitors and telephone enquiries, the role involves general administrative duties supporting the welfare of our children (e.g., attendance administration, managing school dinners, orders/payments), dealing with first aid incidents, managing supplies, maintaining records, and communications.

We are looking for someone to join the Oak Tree Team who not only has the skills and competencies for this role, but equally important, we are looking for someone who takes care and pride in their work, who respects confidentiality, a team player, someone who has integrity and someone who is trustworthy.

It sounds like a big job – it is, but you will find great job satisfaction, supported by a friendly, energetic, committed staff, super children and an ethos of care and challenge.  What’s most important is the desire to be a part of a team that genuinely cares about their community and the experiences they create for the young people that walk through their doors every day.

There is no doubt Oak Tree is a great place to be. There are happy and enthusiastic children, energetic and hardworking staff, a highly supportive community of parents and carers and a committed Governing body.

If you think our school sounds like the place for you, we would really like to meet you and we would strongly encourage candidates to visit the school prior to applying for the job.

To arrange a visit to come and look around the school or if you would like to discuss any aspect of this position further, please contact the School Business Manager, Mrs Taylor on 01623 458261 or ctaylor01
