Welcome back for the start of a new school year. Lots of planning and preparations have been going on to make sure Class 8 gets off to a great start this half term. Parents and carers please come and see us anytime after school if you have any questions. No need to save them for parents' evening.
On this page you will find any copies of Class 8's homework and newsletters. Also look out for picture updates of what has been going on in class and keep an eye on the school Twitter account @OakTree_Primary for all the latest news.
Pupils in Class 8 have been investigating how sound travels this Spring.
The class learnt all about vibration and sound, when they created their own telephones.
The students created a model of a human echo demonstrating how sound waves can bounce off solid objects.
Finally this January pupils made predictions about what materials sound would struggle to travel through and then conducted an experiment to test it.
In maths this week it’s been all about fractions, fractions and more fractions and in English we are continuing to write our own version of The Black Rock.
AFTER a recent visit from local resident Jo Riley, pupils from Class 8 held a minute silence at the school's new Memorial Bench and listened to the poem 'Flanders Field'.
Jo gave the children a talk about local young people who had been part of the Armed Forces in WWI.
