Class 8

Hello Class 8 👋!!!

We are delighted to see Class 8 safely back at Oak Tree. They have had a super start to returning to school and have had lots to tell us their new teachers Mrs Sansom and Mrs Warner.

This page will be the place for parents/carers to come for any information you need about what is happening in our class.

Homework will be posted here when it is given out so please do check if your child says they don’t have any.

Reading should be a top priority for pupils and they need to do this every week. Spellings and times table homework will follow once the children have adjusted to being back.
PE will begin from next week on Mondays and Fridays. For this children need to WEAR THEIR PE KIT to school on Monday and Friday. We will no longer be changing the children in class so they need appropriate PE kit (in line with school uniform policy) and a jumper to keep them warm at playtime.

Lunchtime in Class 8 is now 12.45pm so please send your child with a water bottle and a healthy snack for playtime so they don’t get hungry!

That is all for now but please don’t hesitate to contact us via the school office or the rainbow 🌈 contact button above.

Experimenting with sound phones

Pupils in Class 8 have been investigating how sound travels this Spring.

The class learnt all about vibration and sound, when they created their own telephones.

The students created a model of a human echo demonstrating how sound waves can bounce off solid objects.

Finally this January pupils made predictions about what materials sound would struggle to travel through and then conducted an experiment to test it.

In maths this week it’s been all about fractions, fractions and more fractions and in English we are continuing to write our own version of The Black Rock.

Roman Day for Year 3 and 4 pupils

PUPILS in Year 3 and 4 enjoyed a exciting day enhancing their knowledge of the Romans this term.  Several children attended school dressed up for the day ready to meet Julius Caesar who was visiting.  Through a series of drama activities the children re-enacted key events in the life of Caesar as he travelled around Europe and visited Egypt where he married Cleopatra.  The students also explored different art techniques to create their own mosaics.  Parents and carers can see some of this amazing work outside the classroom in our Sparkle Suite!Children in Class 8 creating their Roman art.
